Acrylics and polycarbonates are an alternative to glass and they come in a variety of sizes, thicknesses, and colors. Both weigh much less than glass and are considerably stronger. Acrylic has 17x the impact resistance of glass whereas polycarbonate has 250x the impact resistance.
Some uses for acrylic include furniture, accent walls, and displays. Polycarbonate can be used for skylights, safety applications, various construction materials, and many other applications.
